Make download available via torrent

Pardon me for asking, but what kind of internet are you on where it makes it faster to download roughly 160 MB of data over torrent rather than direct download? I'm a little lost on where this suggestion is coming from.

Hi, I am unable to download the executible. For some reason it just goes slow until it fails.
Tried from different computers, I have a 1Gb/s connection speed, but I live in Europe.
Is maybe possible to have mirrors? or some filesharing downloading or options?
