The following sequence reproducibly results in the loss of a note (Mac OS X 10.4.11)
1) Command-B to restore best
2) Press 3 to enter Note Mode
3) Add a note and exit Note mode
4) Command-B to restore best
5) Press 3 to enter Note Mode
The Note added in step 3 is gone
