Is there an error in the guides for 155 global open? There's the backbone guide, and the grey sidechain guide, and they dont seem to be agreeing at the res #1 end. Using the backbone guide to rebuild that res #1 end, then taking the sidechain grey shadows as an indicator, there seems to be a one residue difference in the placement of where the sidechains should be. 12-Val is easily placed, shadow matching the sidechain guide. But the next available hydrophobe, 16-Phe, seems to be one entire residue out in the side chain guide, which causes all kinds of ridiculous consequences. Am I making sense, or do I need a holiday??? First, I made the assumption that you meant Val #16 and Phe #12 rather than the other way around. While it's true that the guide for these two residues is almost an exact match in my structure with a score of 10632, I do admit that rebuilding the N-terminus (#1 end) of that puzzle took me quite a while on Day 1. In particular, it involved temporarily setting the 10-17 helix to loops and straightening the 5-6 sheet (in fact I set 4 and 7 to sheet as well) followed by rebuilding the 10-17 helix manually (i.e. freezing off the rest of the protein and using bands to set the location of each residue manually, followed by setting the band strength to 10 via a recipe and then wiggling).
