The ingame chat hasn't been working all day (and part of yesterday)…for me at least.
when I try to submit something I type, I get the following message:
IRC error:
Couldn't send message
Illegal operation for this state
Other than walking through a red light when crossing the street, I rarely do anything illegal, so the problem must be on the foldit side of the deal :P

Hi Nicky – I have no idea what might be causing this problem. Can you use a regular IRC client with your Foldit nick and key (to use the key, simply type it in to NickServ, who will contact you automatically). The main chat is in #global.
Depending on whether that works, we'll know whether it's a server or client issue.
Ok….I logged in through chatzilla just now, that worked fine….tried the ingame chat again, still got the bug
right now chat works again :)
Usually this happens after you lost (even for only one second) your WLAN, internet or chat connection.
The ingame-chat (unlike an IRC-client) doesn't reconnect automatically.
