cookbook pause/resume and progress bar

I am 11 hours in on running Pletsch's awesome "overnight script" on a puzzle that ends in 4 hrs, and realized it would be extremely useful to be able to pause the script, mess with the protein a bit, and then resume the script where it left off. It would also be really helpful to have a script progress bar, as I have no idea how much longer this script will run for–if the script will end soon I will just let it go, but if it is only halfway through, I would prefer to just cancel it at this point.

The pause/resume suggestion is a duplicate of one I submitted long ago, but it's still a good idea!

Is the progress bar feasible or possible? There's no telling what the script will do if you have multiple loops doing different types of things. You might spend 2 hours in one section/process/loop and then go on to do something else that takes 3 days.

I don't think I've ever seen the "Overnight" script run to completion - it must take days on a bigger protein !

Thanks for your comment Brick! I figured the idea might not be original, but it hadn't been done yet, so thought I would post it anyways.

As for the progress bar, I guess I was thinking of something to represent the percentage of total steps or processes that have been completed. That way even if some steps take longer than others, at least one would have some idea how much of the script has been done.

It would be nice to add in script language a function or global variable that indicates puzzle expiration and other function to interrupt script execution.
