Toggle guide hot-key (shift-S) not working

I loaded a puzzle that had a guide Platypus Venom - Take 2 and tried using the shift-s hot-key to get rid of the guide. The command did not work so I went to View > Show Guide and unticked the check box. The guide went away and the hot-key worked again.
