New interface.
Just breaked QuakeR script, deleted bands, looked at buddy list.
Want to see isosuface (from keyboard shortcut) and… crash.

Wild guess:

If it's not happening in any other puzzle, this could be an artifact of the fact that this fake protein is very large (e.g. the program isn't designed to handle a sequence longer than, say, 300 residues)

infjamc is right… this is why we did not post this CASP9 target (and all the other huge CASP targets) as a puzzle, Foldit is currently unable to handle these big proteins.

I'm sure you will run into the same problem if you try the Freestyle Design 500 contest or the other huge contest: CASP9 Target 611 residue protein.

Hopefully you can still come up with some original shapes despite these bugs!

beta_helix:

If this is true, then those who are using the Foldit engine for research purposes should probably be warned of this technical limitation as well. After all, researchers are the ones who are more likely to be working with longer proteins.

Thanks infjamc… when researchers ask for a copy of Foldit we always tell them the current main limitations:
large proteins & symmetry with multimers, these are also the only CASP targets that we skipped this year.
