Difference in aligement tool old/new interface

In old interface we can move letters by arrow keys left/right and via mouse. I prefer keys - mouse sometimes moves too many steps at time.
In selection interface keys not working at all.
Because I`m mostly in selection I have switch back and forth when working on alignment puzzles.

And addons:

• L key is not hiding tool
• L key is doubled in selection: when something is selected it is converted to loop. If nothing selected - tool shows up. Sometimes I want to open tool and have something selected (to see there it is, thread that part or something) and i have use menu
