Updating one client disconnects all other clients on the same machine

I haven't seen this in recent times, going back at least a year or so, Timo. I have seen reloading a client to get an update cause a crash, but even these are generally rare and may well depend on how many clients are running and stressing the computer. However since I am running single client folders now, it may well reduce the adverse effects of such activity that running multiple client folders could be producing. Single client folders produce other positive effects also, such as easier sharing, loading of shares, and clients less likely to be hung up in the middle of a transition..

wow I never take an upgrade with any other open clients - I would not expect it to work

It works spmm, and generally speaking, works quite well, been doing it for years now, BUT, the more clients running from a single folder, the more likely it won't work. Right now, we don't know how many clients Timo is running from a single folder when he attempted his update and I believe that may be of considerable importance..
