On these ligand puzzles, why do we need 110 or more AAs? Maybe we could bind to the ligand in a faster, stronger and easier way by using just 30 or 40 AAs?

On puzzle 2248 at least, you can remove some of the amino acids. I've been using 96 amino acids + the ligand on it myself. On puzzle 2242, I found I could make proteins with 9 to 110 amino acids (10 to 111 segments, including the ligand). Be careful though, not all segments are easily removed. Sometimes one segment can be removed, but its neighbor cannot. Not sure why this happens.
