When attempting to play in offline mode, players may see a 401 error on some puzzles.
For example, a 401 error occurs if you try to open a puzzle with the compound library available in offline.
A 401 error means "not authorized". In offline mode, you're not logged in, so Foldit blocks access to the compound library or any similar features. The idea is to keep submitted compounds associated with a particular user.
The 401 error is similar to why you can't view or share solutions in offline mode.
One possible fix would be to disable the compound library in offline mode, allowing the puzzle to be opened, but preventing compounds from being submitted or viewed.
Another possibility would be to assign offline users a "user 0" account, which would allow anonymous access to the compound library. In this scenario, one offline player could see compound library searches submitted by any other offline players.
