Hi,
I cannot start the Linux version of Foldit:
https://files.ipd.uw.edu/pub/foldit/Foldit-linux_x64.tar.gz
After download and switch to the extraced Folder
tar xvf Downloads/Foldit-linux_x64.tar.gz
Foldit> ./Foldit
Every time I get the following error message on start:
—
Foldit Error: Could not load library: libtorch_cpu.so: cannot enable executable stack as shared object requires: Invalid argument.
—
I have an openSUSE Tumbleweed (linux x86_64 6.14.2-1-default)
Any suggestions?
+1 I have the same problem on archlinux
It might be the same issue as https://fold.it/forum/bugs/segfault-on-arch-linux – I don't know if the Arch Linux commands provided there have openSUSE equivalents.
It helped. However every time when I exit game I get SEGV, but finally I can play :)
Hello and thanks,
the workaround with execstack command helped, but the problems/code regressions with executable stack should be fixed in Foldit.
Certainly. We're looking into putting execstack into the release process for the next update.
hi @hada @castorp we're happy to report that this issue should be fixed for players on all platforms with the latest devprev release! please let us know if you still have any issues or questions
