Description

This is a repost of Partition Puzzle (B): fiendish_ghoul, which is part of the Protein Design Partition Tournament. Unlike the previous puzzle, this repost is for points, and will count in the Overall and Prediction categories. The starting structure is a protein designed by fiendish_ghoul. We are challenging Foldit players to refold the designed protein, to try to find high-scoring decoy structures. This puzzle includes an RMSD Objective, which requires all solutions to be different from the starting structure with an RMSD of at least 2.5 Å. Players that have participated in the original Partition Puzzle will be able to load solutions into this puzzle. Note that this puzzle will only be available for a short time, and will expire on October 5.

Thanks for letting Puzzle 1580 use solutions from the Partition Tournament. Will we be able to also use solutions from 1580 in the Partition Tournament?

Unfortunately, players will not be able to load solutions from Puzzle 1580 back into Partition Puzzle (B): fiendish_ghoul.

However, solutions from this puzzle will still be included in the tournament analysis. When we calculate the partition function for this design, we will include solutions from both Puzzle 1580 and Partition Puzzle (B): fiendish_ghoul.
