Hi,
We currently have someone working on a linux distribution. However, he has been busy lately, please keep in mind that this is exam season at the University of Washington.
From what we've seen, windows fold.it is completely compatible with wine.

I can't get the sound or accessing the internet to work under wine. I'm far from a linux guru but unless you guys have tips then I will have to wait.
Good luck on exams.
Here's one more user waiting for a nice Linux client.
Oh yes, please, please, please. Just was catching up on 'The Economist', spotted your article. Most curious to give this a try.
I've read the thread, so won't add anything to it other than I too am looking forward to a native Linux client.
Kudos on a noteworthy project like this!
Cheers.

So any problems may be related with linux configuration/old WINE.
Another Linux protein folder waiting.
Waiting for linux client…
We have multiple Linux users awaiting your native client, a compressed binary release would be fine. If you are really concerned about a packaging system, I recommend contacting the sponsor of a major distribution e.g Canonical about including it in their science (universe) repository.
Nice suggestion just above… I were just asking myself when this exam session will take end, or if it's ended already (and, if it's the case, what about the results ? Fondamental question regarding the psyche condition of the programmer…)
All those private things like alcohol/drug abuse, physical/mental disorders, which could have an effect on your ability to work, all these private things have to become public when you are an important actor of the society… Now the question is : "Am I an important actor of the society regarding the fact than an entiiiire thread of a forum is dedicated to me ?"
Well the answer is probably not but we're still waiting for foldit to be installed on our wonderfull operating system which takes an important in the society…
Excuse me for this non-constructive (even destructive) post, wrotten after long hours in a bed but in insomniac conditions !
