please make the fast shake back to the normal behavior. The slow one has several disadvantages, especially if you only want to know after certain actions if a shake improves the points where it is so only in 1 of 10 cases
- of course, its slower
- you don't know when it is finished
- finding a change in the sidechains is easier with the fast mode: I use z /shift+z to jump forth and back and there you can see a big part of the protein if there is a change. In the slow mode it depends on your luck if you currently watch the part that is changed.
-> my suggestion
s for the fast shake
shift+s for the slow
and sidechains that have changed are glowing for one or two seconds
The slow mode ends automatically after is has gone through all sidechains.
Mutate Sidechains already "glows" the sidechains that it actually changes, and I agree that Shake should do something similar. Sometimes when Shake makes a small change, I'd like to know where that change occurred; possibly that's where you might need to do more work on the protein.
Personally I like the current Shake much better because I have more control and can stop it anytime.
The "slow" version of Shake is not slower than the "fast" shake, it just doesn't stop automatically after a while. If you don't want to wait you can easily stop it after a few seconds and you'll have the same effect as with "fast" shake.
Highlighting all sidechains that have changed until Shake is stopped could be useful however.
The "slow" version of Shake is not slower than the "fast" shake,
It is. Until the last version it took 1 or max 2 seconds, now it can take 10.
So stopping it manually takes more time, involves "Is it done?" uncertainty and takes one move more of the player.
Old topic. We have working shake. Closing.
