Description

This symmetric design puzzle has C3 symmetry, with three symmetric chains. There is no H-bond Network Objective in this puzzle, so the interface can be completely nonpolar (orange sidechains). No more than 50% of residues may form helices, and all loops must match one of the Ideal Loop Building Blocks found in the Blueprint tool. See the puzzle comments for Objective details. The Baker Lab will run folding predictions on your solutions for this puzzle, and those that perform well will be synthesized in the lab. Remember, you can use the Upload for Scientists button for up to 5 designs that you want us to look at, even if they are not the best-scoring solutions!

Core Existence: Monomer (max +2400)
Ensures that at least 24 residues are buried in the core of the monomer unit.

Core Existence: Complex (max +4050)
Ensures that at least 81 residues are buried in the core of the entire complex (including the interface between monomer units).

SS Design (max +500)
Penalizes all CYS residues. Penalizes GLY, ALA residues in sheets. Penalizes GLY, ALA, SER, THR in helices.

Ideal Loops (max +500)
Penalizes any loop region that does not match one of the Building Blocks in the Blueprint tool. Use "Auto Structures" to see which regions of your protein count as loops.

Secondary Structure (max +500)
No more than 50% of residues may form helices. Extra helices are penalized at 10 points per residue.

Not being able to use 360 degree rotation make
it hard to do the puzzle.
You are scientists and you can't even make the chat work

We haven't been able to reproduce the problem, which makes it difficult for us to figure out exactly what's going on. Can you provide some more details?

Do you mean you're having trouble rotating the camera (by clicking and dragging the background)? Or are you having trouble rotating the protein (using the move tool with purple arrows)?

Does the client crash, or do the tools stop working while Foldit continues to run?

bkoep – I can't rotate the various "lego blocks" or trimer pieces to some rotations using the move tool. I'd like to reach through the screen some days and let my inner 3 year old loose. But I figure it is the same for everyone. So my monomer can't always be flipped the way I would like relative to the other two pieces.

Interesting, one end of a terminal helix is a serine. it and all of the two additional trimers show up as "non-ideal" loops. quite strange looking, as the red dots show up even without the view for symmetric chains turned on

I'm still having fun though. I'll share the funky one to scientists so you can enjoy the floating red dot view :)
