"I am Sándor Miklós SZILÁGYI, one of the co-founders of the Doctoral School of Informatics at UMFST Târgu Mureș, Romania, and responsible for informatics education program in the Hungarian language. Since 1996, I have been active in academia as a Ph.D. student and, since 2015, as a university professor. During this time, I taught a wide range of academic subjects (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.), such as artificial intelligence, computer graphics, software engineering, component-based programming, parallelism, biomedical system modeling, non-linear systems modeling, research methods and ethics, signal and image processing, data structures, advanced programming methodologies and techniques, and programming languages.
Deep learning, artificial intelligence (AI), image processing, pattern recognition, medical image segmentation, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, clustering algorithms, modeling and control of biomedical systems, real-time modeling systems, genetic algorithms, social networks, electro-mechanical modeling of the heart, and ECG signal processing are areas in which I have done extensive technical research and written many papers.
I have done a lot of different things in research and development, including (a) leading several international research and development projects; (b) making several contributions to the prestigious scientific journals; (c) being a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2009; and (d) receiving twice the János Bolyai Fellowship Prize and Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. I supervise Ph.D. students and look forward to expanding this activity to bioinformatics and AI. /for more details, please refer to ORCID: 0000-0002-5657-7365 /
There comes a time in a person's life when they reflect on the usefulness of their personal hobbies alongside their daily tasks. I started an exciting hobby at the beginning of last year that could help us learn more about how living things perform and how to treat different diseases. I reached my goals because I had experience, worked hard, and learned a lot about many other things. Since I've been interested in biomedical engineering problems for a long time and have been working on a wide range of AI applications for a few years, I had the chance to develop ways to design proteins more efficiently and determine their properties. I am competing in the Fold.it system, where I am currently ranked first in the world (Sandrix72), to see how well my methods succeed.
My goal is to develop and implement ideas that will help advance research on human health, cutting-edge biomedical engineering, and bioinformatics. I don’t want to stop here. I also want to set up a dedicated bio-engineering group to help expand the Fold.it system's capabilities using AI techniques and methods for real-world use cases."Important dates:
