This is a Beginner puzzle for new players that have recently completed the Intro Puzzles. The starting model is stuck in a local minimum, can you use the Foldit tools you just learned to improve the model and match the guide?

This is a small (40 residue) symmetric trimer design puzzle. It is the same as 623 except the Residue Interaction Energy filter is enabled. This filter will give a score bonus or penalty based on how well your residues are scoring compared to expected values.

This is a small (40 residue) symmetric dimer design puzzle. It is the same as 617 except there are two new features added to create better designs. The Residue IE (Interaction Energy) filter will give a bonus or penalty based on how well your residues are scoring compared to expected values. The LayerDesign filter will restrict the types of amino acids to encourage more realistic designs. This time, we've given you server models as starting points, and the density has been updated. The density in the last puzzle was being cut off at the wrong spot along one of the dimensions, and this time around, the density should contain one whole copy of the protein (it's in there somewhere!). Keep in mind that there are some pieces of density from other copies of the protein, and you'll have to figure out which parts actually belong. We're working on some exciting new tools that will allow you to edit which parts of the density you actually see, so stay tuned to the Developer Preview!
