Our 23rd CASP target has no templates. We are giving you the 5 Rosetta Server predictions as starting points (and they are also in your template reserve so that you can use partial threading). You will need to significantly change these starting models (do not just refine them) because we believe that they are quite far away from the native!
-
Our 22nd CASP target has 8 templates! Please try them all out, at least to get an idea of what the different topologies are. Maybe you can split up the initial work across Foldit group members if 8 templates is too much for you!
-
Our 21st CASP target has 6 templates but they don't span the entire protein. Look at the where the 6 different templates agree, move the different alignments around and try using the partial threading as well.

Our 20th CASP target is a tough one. It does have 5 templates but they don't span the entire protein. You'll need to look at where the 5 different templates agree, move the different alignments around where they don't, and try using the partial threading as well. For the unaligned end of the protein, you'll need to use all your folding skills!
-
Our 19th CASP target is a very short protein with 4 templates. Please try out all four templates, move the different alignments around and use the partial threading as well. NOTE: This puzzle also closes at an early time of day!
-
Our 18th CASP target is a shorter protein with 5 templates. Please try out all five of them and use the partial threading as well to combine different templates into a single model. Try moving around the different alignments, particularly in regions that have significant differences between templates. NOTE: This puzzle closes at an early time of day!

Our 17th CASP target is tricky because it does have a template, but it might not be very good. In fact, 2 of the 5 models submitted to CASP9 by the Rosetta Server did not use any templates. So we are giving you these 5 Rosetta@home predictions as well as the template that was used by the 3 server models. All 5 Rosetta models are in your template reserve. Even though these thread and score a lot better than the iffy template, please do try out the other template too!
-
We are giving you the 5 Rosetta Server predictions as starts for our 16th CASP target (since it also has no templates). NOTE: Every lab competing in CASP has access to these models as well, so if you want to Foldit to perform well in CASP9 you'll need to make significant changes to these 5 starting models (and not just refine them). They are in your template reserve so that you can use the partial threading as well to mix them up a bit.

Our 15th CASP target is another case where we have no templates. Again we are giving you 5 Rosetta@home predictions where each time you reset the puzzle you will see one of the 5 models submitted to CASP9 by the Rosetta Server. All 5 of these models are also in your template reserve so that you can use the partial threading as well. These are all very different starting models and we have no idea how close they are to the native so explore as much as you can!

Our 14th CASP target is another case where we have no templates. Again we are giving you 5 Rosetta@home predictions where each time you reset the puzzle you will see one of the 5 models submitted to CASP9 by the Rosetta Server. All 5 of these models are also in your template reserve so that you can use the partial threading as well. These are all very different starting models and might be very far from the correct native structure so explore as much as you can!
