This puzzle makes use of the Alignment Tool, where you will find 3 different templates that you can thread onto the sequence you are trying to fold. You will need to complete Intro Puzzles 6-1 through 6-3 to suceed in this puzzle. Make sure to move the different alignments around, try out all 3 different templates and use partial threading (see puzzle comments).

This is the second round of the exploration version of puzzle 457. Explore away from the structures shown on the contact map to increase your score multiplier. Play the exploration puzzle tutorial and get started by going to [Actions]->[Contact Map]. This second round will be worth 20 points and will last 2 days.

We are giving you 5 server models for this currently unsolved protein. Resetting the puzzle will cycle through these 5 Zhang server predictions. They are also in the Alignment Tool so you can use partial threading as well as an extended chain. We would like to see how well you can refine these models that were not generated using Rosetta. More info about this protein in the puzzle comments.

For this protein, we are giving you an extended chain to start from. We call these Freestyle Puzzles because you are free to fold the protein any way you want. Make sure to try as many different topologies as you can, since many different folds will yield the same Foldit score... best of luck finding the highest score!

The crystal structure of monomeric M-PMV retroviral protease, which causes AIDS in rhesus monkeys, has finally been released. You may have read about this protein in the news recently... so we thought we should post it again as a Quest to the Native. Once again we are giving you the 10 NMR models to work on, they are also in the Alignment Tool. After threading, make sure to press G to Align the Guide. We're sure you can get even closer to the native this time, and in less than 10 days!
