This target was originally 196 residues, but has been trimmed down to 185. We have been told that almost 78% of this model matches the native, so we are giving you the 3 templates that were used to generate this model. Maybe by moving the alignment around using the Alignment Tool you'll be able to completely match the native. More info in the puzzle comments.

This target was originally 215 residues, but has been trimmed down to 185. We have been told that almost 80% of this model matches the native, so we are also giving you the template that was used to generate this model. Hopefully by moving the alignment around with the Alignment Tool you'll be able to completely match the native! Please read the puzzle comments for more on this.

This is the original model given to us by CASP for the same target used in Puzzle 573b. They have told us that regions 1-26 and 89-129 are wrong, so please focus on changing the structure of both those regions. We've been told that ~68% of this model matches the native. You should be able to load in saved solutions from 573b. Note the short deadline. More info in the comments.

As mentioned in Puzzle 570, we are giving you some server predictions for this CASP10 target. Resetting the puzzle will cycle through 6 different server predictions and they are available in the Alignment Tool so you can use partial threading between them. Please try to work on each of the 6 server models, not just the one that gets you the most points after a couple days. The other models might get you a better score eventually!

This puzzle was closed and reposted as puzzle 573b (identical starting model but with the alignment tool, so you can use the Cut Tool) based on this suggestion: http://fold.it/portal/node/992917#comment-18188 You can manually save any solutions from this puzzle and load them in 573b.

The CASP organizers have told us that two regions of this starting model are incorrect, so we have modified both these regions into 2 extended chains. You can use the alignment tool to thread the remaining original regions. We will repost this puzzle using the unmodifided starting model, letting you load in your solutions from this puzzle. Secondary structure predictions for this Refinement target are posted in the puzzle comments.

The ninth CASP10 should be a lot easier, it's only 33 residues. We are giving you the top-predicted templates from 3 different alignment programs and you can see that they are all very similar. Note the short deadline, since this target is so small. More details about this CASP target are in the puzzle comments.

We are giving you a 10 residue helix positioned over a hydrophobic groove where binding occurs in nature. This native binding region in marked by unfrozen side chains. Try to look for favorable hydrophobic interactions in this groove while maintaining the helix. If you are new to Foldit, make sure you have completed Intro Puzzle 5-2, and 7-1 through 7-4 before trying this puzzle. Read the new blogpost for more details.

As mentioned in Puzzle 566, we are giving you some server predictions for this CASP10 target. Resetting the puzzle will cycle through 6 different server predictions and they are available in the Alignment Tool so you can use partial threading between them. Please try to work on each of the 6 server models, not just the one that gets you the most points after a couple days. The other models might get you a better score eventually!

The eighth CASP10 target is not an easy one, but at least it's only 86 residues. We are providing you with 5 different templates, before giving you the server predictions once they are released. Please try out all 5 templates as they have different topologies and we don't know which one is correct. More details about this CASP target are in the puzzle comments.
